Book NowThis session explores lighting from the perspective of human perception rather than simply measured illuminance. We look at how the visual system experiences the entire light field - luminance, contrast, spatial distribution and hierarchy — and how this shapes our perception of brightness, space and atmosphere.
Join Henrik Clausen, Fagerhult’s Director of Research & Education, as he explores how lighting design can be guided by research, real-world examples, and simple design principles. This session challenges designers to move beyond the question of “How much light is needed?” and instead focus on the more meaningful considerations: Where should the light be, and what role should it play?
Please note this will be an in-person only event in Oxford. Please only register if you are able to attend.

To register to attend. (NB This takes you to an external form from Fagerhult). Refreshments will be provided, can delegates provide details of any special dietary requirements.
